ANNUAL DAY 2011
“JEE JAAN SE”
GG International School celebrates its Annual Day Jee Jaan Se
GG International School, celebrated its annual day on December 10, 2011. The chief guest was the eminent cricketer Mr. Dilip Vengsarkar.

The event, scheduled at the Babasaheb Ambedkar Krida Sankul at Vallabhnagar, Pimpri began at 5.30pm by welcoming the Special Guests and the Advisory Panel members of the School. It was beautiful to see the Captains of the School presenting the guests with potted plants instead of bouquets, in tandem with the theme of the evening – ‘Save our Planet – Jee Jaan Se’. The Principal, Mr. Murad Sarfraz assured the guests and the 3,000 strong parent body seated in the audience that the theme ‘permeated every aspect of the functioning of the School’ and ‘definitely not restricted to just this evening.’

Mr. Dilip Vengsarkar, a personality very familiar to every cricket-loving fan recounted his memories and close relations with the city of Pune. He spoke about his Cricket Academy at Thergaon and emphasized the importance of Sports in a student’s life.

Achievement medals and certificates were handed over to the meritorious children by the Chief Guest. It was heartening to see achievers in all fields being felicitated – truly a victory for Comprehensive and Continuous Evaluation (CCE).

The floor was then thrown open to a cultural extravaganza, performed by the students. The show was compered with elan by senior students in English, Hindi and Marathi. The use of all the three languages with equal flair was highly appreciated by the discerning audience. The entire visual treat was designed to mirror the deterioration of our planet alongwith the journey of man from childhood to adulthood.

The little angels of pre-primary personified ‘Pehli Udaan’ with the portrayal of a child’s first tentative steps into the world of learning. The children then danced to Bum Bum bole to signify the gradual transformation into a more confident and happy student. Professions chosen by young adults as they step out into the world was the theme for the daring performance of the primary children. Importance of health and exercise in the lives of these young professionals was brought out by the energetic display of aerobics as well. Celebrations follow – myriad colours of Bhangra and a Bengali marriage dance presented the carnival of an adult life.

Now, the mood turned somber… the rampant and mindless destruction of Planet Earth and the pathos thereafter was revealed through some gut wrenching performances by the senior students. The washing away of flowers by the all powerful water completed the gloomy picture. Our planet stood at Ground Zero. NO HOPE!! Or is there….?

One boy planting one small tree…soon many more join him….we are ready for our ‘Nayi Udaan’…a New Flight into a new future. It is possible..yes…but only with concerted efforts….Jee Jaan Se!

The Grand Finale, with the presence of all the students and their teachers on stage was truly majestic. Rendition of A R Rahman’s Vande Mataram by the School choir was fascinating and the electric colourful fireworks brought the mesmerizing evening to a memorable end.
