PURVI JAIN – STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2011-12
It was a red-letter day for GGIS as one of our ex-students was felicitated with the Student of the Year Award by Times-NIE. Purvi Jain, our Head Girl in the last academic session, came proudly wearing the GGIS uniform to receive the prestigious award from the hands of Principal, Mr. Murad Sarfraz. The roaring applause from the GGians confirmed that she indeed embodied all of the qualities that were mentioned as a pre-requisite for the award.
Mr. Murad Sarfraz spoke highly of her dedication and commitment; and credited her father Mr. Jain (also present) for the wonderful upbringing. Mr. Jain, when invited to speak, could not hide his pride and thanked the School, the teachers and the Principal for helping Purvi accomplish her goals.
Purvi, in her speech, while echoing her father’s words of gratitude to the school, also went on to give a message to GGIians. ‘Do not be afraid to follow your dreams, albeit with slow or unsure steps; Be afraid only of remaining still.’ The award that she held proudly in her hands was a definite testament to her ‘Dream-come-true’!
